Totally, inarguably subjective position here.
Gotta agree with the Dork here. Some of the best music is just tossed off or easily accessible. I know a lot of people don't like Paul McCartney's solo career, but one of the things I found most remarkable about Flaming Pie was that he wrote some of the best songs on it in an hour or less, and that was it. Stephin Merritt does the same thing, and I'm sure there are numerous other examples. And it certainly doesn't take a whole lot of thought to get something from anything the Beatles ever did.
On the other side of the coin, there's also some quality music made by personally reprehensible people who probably didn't do much thinking - think Fear or early black metal.

Ya whatever happened to that?
I haven't listened to the Postal Service in ages, but I really don't like Dntel at all, so I guess I vote for "Give Up" which I remember as a pretty solid pop record. Maybe I should give it a few spins...
I never hated any of you/I loved you all at the time

Give Up had 3 or 4 great songs, a couple of solid songs, and a couple of cringe-worthy songs. At least that's how I remember it. It's been years since I heard it. The cringing came mostly from some of the lyrics in those songs.
