So I just played Rock Band on X Box 360 for the first time yesterday and have had previous addictions connected to the Guitar Hero series. I have always wished that there was an indie version of the game. If you agree, list five songs from five different "indie" (interpret however you will, this isn't a discussion on what's "indie") rock bands that you wish were playable on the game. I'll obviously start:

Deerhoof - "The Perfect Me" from Friend Opportunity
Built To Spill - "Carry The Zero" from Keep It Like A Secret
Dinosaur Jr. - "Pick Me Up" from Beyond
Marnie Stern - "Put All Your Eggs In One Basket And Then Watch That Basket!!!" from In Advance of the Broken Arm
Black Mountain - "Stormy High" from In The Future

I can't stop! Here are five more to add to the wish list:

Sunset Rubdown - "The Mending Of The Gown" from Random Spirit Lover
Pumice - "Northland" from Pebbles
No Age - "Neck Escaper" from Weirdo Rippers
Lightning Bolt (on Bass obviously) - "On Fire" from Wonderful Rainbow
Shining - "In The Kingdom Of Kitsch You Will Be A Monster" from Grindstone

Very nice!

Chavez is so cool, and Built to Spill should be a household name.

If they just made a Fugazi stand-alone version, I would lose my job. Probably two or three of my friends would, too.

Fugazi would be great, but is perhaps the most unlikely of bands to ever license their music away to something like this.

Yeah, good call, they would never agree to that. I'd settle for one more tour at this point.

I love Broken Social Scene as well, good to see another fan. Here are some of my picks. I'm think of this more as a "Rockband" list but whatever.

Beck - Hotwax / Odelay!

Deerhoof - Wrong Time Capsule / Runners Four

Jim O'Rourke - All Down Hill From Here / Insignificance

Sonic Youth - Rain on Tin - Murray Street

Yo La Tengo - Sugarcube - I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One

* one extra one for the fellow BSS fan:
Pacific Theme - You Forgot it in People

Good lists. Hard to pick just five. Mine is obviously in alphabetical order, any guess why? lol. Keep 'em coming.
