Nobody's talked about this guy (Neige) around here, but this album is really worth checking out. Sure, Alcest used to be a black metal band, but Souvenirs is more like My Bloody Valentine than Burzum.

im looking for pretty much the most uninspired/unoriginal brutal and/or slam death. with little or no variation in vocals. stuff like disgorge(us) and condemned.

This is just shoegazing post-rock. I hate how everybody likes to romanticize back stories. Yes, this guy used to be in a black metal band. Yes, M.I.A. is from Sri Lanka and that influence has a great foundation in her music. Yes, the new Radiohead album is essentially free. The music is more important. In the case of Alcest though, the music is only okay. If you like these guys I'd recommend checking out Envy. They just released a new EP called Abyssal, which is pretty great. Their new stuff sounds like heavy, shoegazing post-rock.
