This came out last year and has only been available as an import in the US (Amazon has it for approx. $30) It got a good Pitchfork review and finished 29th on their year end list. Anyway, I pretty much ignored it due to it only being availble on import, but its coming out stateside May 9th. AOL is streaming it on their full CD listening party page here, so I decided to check it out and... Its fucking awesome.

Its definitely MBV Loveless inspired, but noisy as hell. I've read some comparisions to Velvet Underground which I kind of here. Any fan of noise/shoegaze/harder indie rock should check it out.

I didn't even know it was an import. I bought it for like 16 dollars somewhere online (I think Pitchfork). It is great, though.

Serena Maneesh is truly a great band. One of the strongest debuts of 2005. From Un-Deux, which is goddamn incredible to the sudden melodic greatness in "Sapphire Eyes" and "Serena's Melodie Fountain," the just straight out of rockness of "Your Blood in Mine" just a really really awsome album.
