There's still tix available for the Atlanta show. I checked Ticketmaster yesterday. I haven't bought any yet, but am still considering it. They were damn good on SNL.

WHAT the FUCK
I turn down a LOT of free tickets these days. I don't have the time or the energy to drag my ass out to shows. Between work and family I'm down to a show at month, at best.
But I called my buddy and got my freebies for the Arcade Fire show after all. If I don't like Neon Bible I'll scalp 'em to some trust-fund indie kid!
If I decide not to use 'em, I'll put the word out to all y'all and you can fight over 'em.

I enjoyed the SNL performance - and thought that this episode of SNL wasn't that bad - certainly better than the Hugh Laurie episode, where they had a respected comedic actor perform a five-minute fart joke. I'm looking forward to the Atlanta show.
------ Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.

Sounds good. These are the only two songs I've heard from Neon Bible, and both are getting me pretty excited to hear the whole thing when it's released. I'd heard that Arcade Fire were a good live band, but they sounded damn near immaculate on SNL.

Have you Atlanta guys been to a show at the Civic Center before? I saw the Nutcracker there years ago and I wouldn't exactly describe it as a great place to see a show. I may be remembering wrong, though. I wish they were playing the Tabernacle.

I saw Prince there, and it's not a BAD rock venue, but not great, either. I think it's better for shows than the Fox. The difference between the Tabernacle and the Civic Center, seating-wise, is about 1100. The Tabernacle holds 3500, the Civic Center over 4600. At $100 a seat, that's some serious coin. I'm glad mine were free...

The Arcade Fire are just British Sea Power wannabees. I hope Yan and the boys take 'em out to the car park and give them a funeral. Apologies to sucker fish
Oh, could I feel as I have felt, or be what I have been, Or weep as I could once have wept, o'er many a vanished scene; As springs in deserts found seem sweet, all brackish though they be, So, midst the withered waste of life, those tears would flow to me.

I read his post as saying the Arcade Fire tix were $100. The face value was $32 I think. I just checked Ticketmaster and they're all gone, so maybe scalped tickets are $100 which I easily believe.
EDIT: Actually, its not sold out and Ticketmaster still has seats at $32 plus charges, so I don't know where $100 comes from.

As earlier speculated upon, pE's tickets were a C-Note (if he'd coughed it up) to help pay for Prince and his big ol' band, not the Arcadians. (I hope. There's no mention of Arcade Fire in the $100 post.)

Yes, I'd be quite shocked if AF tickets were going anywhere near that high. $32 even seems a bit steep.

Yo La Tengo tickets were going for $75 outside the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta the night of the show. Yes, there's just a small few willing to shell that out, but still the Arcade Fire are certainly capable of drawing that kind of money for scalped tickets.

I was talking about the Arcade Fire, but I had bad info. When I first pulled up the tix info from the Atlanta Civic Center, they had $100 minimum tickets listed, but I think that was a mistake or a listing for another show. But I know I saw it on the Civic Center website. It wasn't a scalper site. All tix are $32 for the Atlanta show.
I paid around $50 for Prince, but they were so-so seats.
