I have been meaning to get into Swans, but had never gotten around to it until a friend burned me a copy of "The Great Annihilator" and "Kill The Child: Live 1985-1986-1987". I love what I am hearing so far, but I know they have an extensive back catalog. So, please post recommendations on where to start with Swans - their best albums, albums indicative of a particular stylistic period for the band, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.

"Children of God" and "White Light From the Mouth of Infinity" are my personal favorites but Gira can do no wrong. "Feel Good Now" is also spectacular.

I don't know much about them honestly, but I have heard Children of God and a couple of their 90s releases, none of which I really liked that much. Then I heard an earlier work from them, Filth, and thought it was pretty damn good. *shrug*
