What does everyone thinK? Hype or substance?

I have only had the second album for a while, and only recently have been reading about them and noticing all the hype, and drama surrounding the band.

I like the album, I just don't see why so many people think this is the best since the Beatles. Interested what the board thinks.

Its just a bunch of hype. That second album was dreadful and the first album wasnt up to much either, too derivative of the Clash even down to how Doherty sings. Its just that they had the British press salivating over them because they used British slang and place names in their songs.
