So, it seems as though The Dears have a new album coming out within months, "Gang of Losers," awesome album title in my opinion. However, one thing has always saddened me about The Dears: why is it that they aren't more successful? Don't get me wrong, they're big in Canada, but why not in the U.S. or the U.K.?

What do you think?

I think The Dears are successful in that they have a loyal and widely spread fanbase, they just haven't had a song or record that has taken them into the mainstream.

Who knows, this new album might provide it?

Personally, I think it's because their street-teamers suck so bad.

Its good that the Dears aren't too big. I like it taht way! THey are big enough here in Canada and are farily big in the UK.

Whats this about the Dears having another release already coming out soon after Gang of Losers? I dont think so. I think its becuase it was released in Canada quite awhile before it was released in the US.

I think its because most people (generally speaking) shy away from music that sounds negative, personally I don't focus on whether the music is positive or negative and just listen to the music for what it is.
Alot of people I have shown The Dears to have said they sound too negative, unfortunately.
Not everyones cup of tea so to speak.

Would you like lies with that?

I dont understand why the new album "Gang of Losers" is getting lukewarm reviews. I'm loving it. Not as much as No Cities Left...but its still a really great record. ANyone?

Yeah its a good album, but I can understand how people could not initially like it. It is a grower.

some artists from Montreal like Malajube, Dumas, Arcade Fire and Kid Koala are better than The Dears. Final answer.

Gang of Losers is definitely a grower but I knew it was a great record when I first heard it. I enjoy it better than No Cities Left. I actually put it at number one on my year end list.

It's going to end up on my list as well. Probably somewhere around ten or so.
