It's a great album, period. There is not one weak track in the entire thing. I knew that their new one was going to be good but I didn't expect it to be this good. Another great album that came out on this amazing Tuesday filled with great albums.

theres quite a few catchy tunes on the new album, but I dont think it deserves a 90. but none the less, its a pretty good album.

DANCE PARTY!!!
You see, I got the album yesterday, and my friends and i actually did have a dance party to it in the rain... and I knew that was what it's made for.

Wow, a bunch of haters in this thread. I think the new album is superb and deserving of all the praise and hype.
It's seems people want to knock the album because it's so lyrically simplistic or even juvenile. But think about how many great albums could be considered juvenile or simplistic when it comes to lyrics. Example: Weezer "the blue album.

DANCE PARTY!!!
No self-respecting, fun-loving, Dance-party-going music fan would ever throw this album on the player for an actual dance gathering. Murphy is too afraid to have fun, and too smug not to parody himself. Dance music should be ignorant of the realities of the world, it should bring you up, not down. This album is a dance-beat-downer for me.

Agreed. The reviewer from Slant definitely touched on this as well. It's a decent album, with a handful of great tunes, but some of it doesn't really work all that well. I don't think it really warrants a 90... probably more like high 70s...

LCD Soundsystem is indie music above anything else in my opinion. Which would explain why it's not simply mindless dance music. It's music that trascends genres. It's the bomb! If you want to dance to it, feel free. If you want to just listen for the sheer enjoyment, there's plenty there. It's indie dance.
