2007 was more about se/threequels. Granted there are a few se/three/quaequels this year but lots of fun original (if you can call the movie industry original any more) movies to look forward to this year!
While it isn't a completely fair comparison between 2007 and 2008 sequels and so forth because it's impossible to determine accurately which of the 2008 sequels will actually get released into theaters, the scheduled number of 2008 sequels number at this point around 26 while around 17 sequels were actually released in 2007. So in terms of possible numbers of sequels 2008 doesn't seem to be looking that much different than 2007.
