Mine is easily Revolutionary Road. Just having Kate Winslet in it would be enough for me, but having it be directed by Mendes sends my meter through the roof. I'm cautiously excited about The Dark Knight, 27 Dresses and The Sex and the City Movie as well.

I can't wait for these two (links may contain spoilers):

1. The X-Files 2 (1013 and 20th Century Fox): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Untitled_X-Files_sequel

2. WALL-E (Pixar Animation Studios): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WALL-E

I'm mildly excited about The Dark Knight, but only because Heath Ledger looks like an excellent Joker.

The movie I'm most excited about next year is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Actually, I've never been as excited about any movie like this one, ever.

I've been following the production closely since last May or so, and it really looks like it has shaped up to be something special. It will put the Star Wars prequels to deep shame.

Anaconda put the Star Wars prequels to deep shame! But yeah, those are two of the movies I'm looking forward to most next year. Particularly Dark Knight, because I love Nolan and Bale, and Ledger looks particularly menacing as The Joker. Hopefully they don't fall into the Spiderman 3 trap of thinking more is better. I'm sure they won't.

I just hope Indy is at least good. Would be a shame if the franchise got wrecked in the last installment. I trust Spielberg though.

I, on the otherhand, if you have a chance to look over my list, the first post on this thread haven't found as many movies that I'm really looking forward to this year. As another poster mentioned elsewhere, 2007 has been a very good year for good movies and it will be tough to beat, especially looking over the 2008 movies that are scheduled.

2007 was more about se/threequels. Granted there are a few se/three/quaequels this year but lots of fun original (if you can call the movie industry original any more) movies to look forward to this year! Smiler

While it isn't a completely fair comparison between 2007 and 2008 sequels and so forth because it's impossible to determine accurately which of the 2008 sequels will actually get released into theaters, the scheduled number of 2008 sequels number at this point around 26 while around 17 sequels were actually released in 2007. So in terms of possible numbers of sequels 2008 doesn't seem to be looking that much different than 2007.

2007 - 19

28 Days Later
4: The Rise of the Silver Surfer
Aliens vs. Predators: Requiem
BloodRayne II: Deliverance
Bourne Ultimatum
Elizabeth: The Golden Age
Evan Almighty
Hannibal Rising
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Hills Have Eyes 2
Hostel Part II
Live Free or Die Hard
National Treasure: Book of Secrets
Ocean’s 13
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
Resident Evil: Extinction
Rush Hour 3
Saw IV
Shrek the Third
Spider-Man 3

2008 - 26

Ace Ventura 3
Baby Geniuses 3
Bond 22
Harry Potter and the Half Prince
Hellboy 2: The Golden Army
High School Musical 3
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Kung Pow 2: The Tongue of Fury
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Underworld
Madagascar: The Crate Escape
Mortal Kombat 8
Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
People Under the Stairs 2
Phantasm 5
Rambo
Saw 5
Scary Movie 5
Scorpion King: The Rise of the Akkadian
Sister of the Traveling Pants 2
Sleepaway Camp Reunion
Star Trek
Star Wars: Secrets of the Rebellion
Thomas Crown Affair 2
Ultraviolent: The Beginning
X-Files
Witchcraft 13: Blood of the Chosen

You got me there! Although for the record I most certainly am not looking forward to Baby Geniuses 3 or Ace ventura 3!! Smiler

The above quoted titles are not sequels. Well they are, but they are video games. Except for Ultraviolent, which is nothing to do with Ultraviolet.

Additionally although stuff like Jurassic Park 4 is scheduled for 2008, I'd imagine the chances of it being released this year are slim. I certainly haven't heard any new details on it has anyone else?

Didn't realize there was so many sequels for 2008 though!

Why is 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days getting so much praise from the critics, it won't even be in limited release in the United States until January 25th? What is it about this movie? Puzzled.

I look forward to seeing Rambo, James Bond, The Mummy (3), Angels and Demons, and Where the Wild Things Are.

I saw the newest rocky movie and thought it was great so I think that the newest Rambo should be kick ass. I really can't wait for the next James Bond movie either because Casino Royal was fantastic (I had low expectations after that absolutely horrible movie Die another Day). I am a gigantic fan of The Mummy so that sould be awesome. Angles and Demons IMO was much better than the Da Vinci Code so that sould be good. I am not sure about where the wild things are but I always like that book.
