I've been reading this..slowly...excellent book.

But, I'm wondering what they were thinking when they tried to turn it into a movie. Since it's the kind of book whose basic themes are inextricably tied to the characters' inner narratives.

Not to mention how difficult it is to find an actor who's the exact shin shade as to be convincingly black but also pass as Jewish.

I'll be reading that in two weeks, but I'm really looking forward to it.
