Has anybody here read it? This, in my opinion, is the most orginal and mind bending book I have ever come across, so much so that I would find it almost impossible to describe it.

If you've read it or are intrested leave a comment. Or if you disagree and think you've read something more intresting say so.

I actually picked this up in an airport bookstore to read on a flight a few years ago. I thought the first half of it was incredibly creepy, but I thought it kind of fell apart at the end. I couldn't help but think of the mid-80s horror movie "House" the whole time I was reading it.

I don't dig the Stripes, but I'll go for Har Mar.

I have not read the book but I do own it. I have high hopes of reading it but only when I am in the right state of mind. The book I hear it very deep with strange meaning intwined in it. If anyone else has any comments though I would like to hear them.

I read it a few years ago, and it is indeed a really creepy book. It takes a lot of concentration to read because there are parts of the book that you have to flip the book sideways and backwards to read. To be honest, I didn't completely understand the subplot contained within the boxes a whole lot, so towards the end I got frustrated and only read the main parts.
If you want to read it, I do definitely recommend it, but it's not nearly as earth-shattering as everyone is making it out to be. I have a feeling this might be like the Donnie Darko of the literature world-- everyone says it's so profound and mystical, but most of the time it's because their friends have convinced them of it while they actually cannot explain the significance of it themselves. Make sense?

This is actually very well stated. As a recent piece of metafiction, it's very effective, but I really don't think there's as much there as people think.

It's been emotional.

I agree. I really enjoyed the book, but I think I really wanted there to be some mind-blowing meaning behind it and I really couldn't find one. It is a cool story though.
