Well, as an RPG fan, the 16-bit era has a lot of fond memories for me, notable Square releases. Chrono Trigger is still one of my all-time favorite games. I still bust out my super nintendo to play it every now and then. Final Fantasy IV and VI were fantastic.

Getting away from Square RPGs, Super Metroid remains immensely playable to this day, as do the Sonic the Hedgehog games. 16-bit Megaman X was awesome too. And Street Fighter II...I played that well into the Gamecube era.

Hmmm...these are all the usual suspects, methinks.

for sure Chrono Trigger - still have my cart.

Titles that got lots of play time:

ALttP, Killer Instinct (hold ALL the buttons when moving into the match, listen for that sound!!), MK2.

Star Fox was loads of fun at the time, going back later there's something about that 10fps that kinda .....sucks. I thought that was the best game of the few that had the FX chip.
