1. Final Fantasy Tactics 2. Tekken 3 3. Metal Gear Solid 4. Twisted Metal 2 5. Gran Tourismo 2 6. Tenchu Stealth Assassins 7. Final Fantasy 7 8. Resident Evil 9. Xenogears
Man I love this game. Everything about it is great. The story, the music, the gameplay - it's all top of the pops. I still can't believe it didn't catch on when it was originally released. A lot of people missed out on one of the best PS1 games.

Twisted Metal 2's (or World Tour as it was known over here) multiplayer was an absolute riot in both death match and corporative modes! Apart from Goldeneye on N64, this is the greatest console multiplayer game I ever had the pleasure of owning!
other favs: Alien Trilogy Doom (awesome conversion) The original Tekken International Track And Field (another multiplayer blast!)

Metal Gear Solid has to be in anyones list of best PS1 games. In fact it's probably one of the top 5 games of all time. The Resident Evil and Tekken series have to be there too. I'd also like to mention Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver and Parasite Eve 2 because i don't think anyone else will! I consider these to be two of the PS1's finest games.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy-All the characters & stages from the first 3 games & you can be ALL of the bosses!
Street Fighter EX plus Alpha-This is by far my favorite Street Fighter game ever! The combos & super moves blew everyone in the room away!
Alien Ressurrection-I'm a huge Alien fan & until this game, it was Alien Trilogy. This one is 100% better.
Twisted Metal 2-I bought the first when I first got my PS1 & loved the concept, but 2 was even better. I didn't really like any others.
Resident Evil-I bought this when it first came out, not really sure what to expect. I love this game!
Final Fantasy VII-The first & only Final Fantasy game I've ever played & just loved it.
Battle Arena: Toshinden-This game was just fantastic when it first came out.
Die Hard Trilogy-This was 3 different games in one: an adventure game, driving game, & first person shooter!
Jumping Flash-A wierd game, but for some reason, I really got into it.
Megaman 8-The best looking Megaman game ever! The animation was/is beautiful!
Gran Turismo-Probably one of the best racing games I've played.
Wipeout-This game was very cool, but the cars took a little getting used to. Hover cars aren't as controllable as you'd think.

Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

Wow, you were definitely in on the early PS stuff, huh? I remember being amazed by all of these games when they came out. They looked so good compared to Super Nintendo. Now they look like hell, but it was cool back then

Yeah, I bought these games pretty much when I bought my PS1. I even still own & play them! I remember Battle Arena: Toshinden being the tightest game ever, but now, it DOES look terrible ! Although, it doesn't cut down on the fun or the plain old nostalgia I get when I pop these babies in!

For years I thought FF7 was the best PS1 game, hands down. The last few times I've tried to play it, though, I've been pretty bored. Now I'd say my list is more like this:
1. Final Fantasy Tactics (essential, period) 2. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (tied with Super Metroid for the best side-scroller ever) 3. Suikoden II (Forgotten classic. A game that deserves much higher praise then it gets) 4. Final Fantasy VII (Still a great story) 5. Resident Evil (Pretty much popularized a whole style of games) 6. Twisted Metal 2 (still a blast to play) 7. Suikoden (Such an easy, light-hearted game) 8. Legend of the Dragoon (Good fighting system and story, but a little too long for its own good) 9. Vandal Hearts II (Not nearly as good as FFT, but still a great RPG-strategy game) 10. Persona II (Very strange RPG, but intriguing in an odd way)

I think i already made this kind of top, but hey, I like making best of lists
1. Final Fantasy Tactics (Tactical-RPG. Best storyline in all the universe! Even a movie storie can't beat the FFT story. Seriously. It is the only console game i'm playing to since 1 year.) ***** 2. Chrono Cross (RPG. Weird story, weird caracters for a weird hypnotic game.)***** 3. Legend of the dragoon (RPG. simple, original, long, great fighting system, the full package)**** 4. Crash Team Racing (Racing. A game that compete Super mario kart 64. Very fun and has an excellent replay value.) **** 5. Medievil II (Adventure. Creepy places with creepy music. A game that mixes horror, action and humour. You can play it safe or destroy everything around you.) ****
