I've searched online for this recently, and several articles from professional sites, such as Wikipedia, indicate that the Dreamcast and some games will be sold through Sega Direct of Japan. As I mentioned, however, you'll have to import the items.

They aren't returning to the industry. They were refurbished, or if they were factory new, it's because Sega was overstocked with Dreamcasts which is why they slowed (and eventually stopped) production in 2001.

I had a Dreamcast and i really loved it. My favourite games were Toy Commander ( i played that game for ages), Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio and Chu Chu Rocket. I had a lot more fun on these games than I've ever had on the Xbox 360.

The dreamcast was a very powerful system for the time it was released, but I think Sega made some marketing mistakes. The timing wasn't that good for the release because people were still very focused on the playstation one.

Also, as much as I liked the system and had a lot of fun with it, the controllers were horrible. They were very uncomfortable and after playing for a while, my hands would hurt. Never really had that problem with ps controllers. Also, the PDA type memory units were a bit odd.

I love my DC...and still play games for it. If I wasn't watching the Steelers this thread would have me fire it back up.

For some reason it's still my favorite.

The Dreamcast was one of my favorite systems. They just had some of the best games, hands down.

Favorites:
Soul Calibur
Street Fighter III: Third Strike
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Grandia II
Skies of Arcadia (sure, the GC version is better in many regards, but it started here)
Fatal Fury/Garou: Mark of the Wolves
The Last Blade 2
Power Stone 1 & 2
Illbleed
Resident Evil CODE: Veronica
Marvel vs Capcom 1 & 2
Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram
Sonic Adventure 1 & 2
