I think this was the best movie I've seen this year so far. This was an absolute amazing flick from front to back. Casey Affleck = Amazing. Great cast, great writing, great directing. Overall great movie experience. I suggest everyone go see it.
Just came back from seeing this movie. Definitely in my top ten movie list and a hoped for Golden Globe or Oscar nomination for best screenplay for Ben Affleck, it was an amazing script, the dialogue was so rich and texture, many scenes tension-filled and dramatic. A brilliant movie.

I too thought it was a solid movie, a very nice debut for Affleck, but not in my top 10 of the year. Certainly in the top 20, though.
Actually, I thought it was better than "Mystic River" (both are based on crime novels by the same author). I never understood why that was so acclaimed.
GBG has some pretty intense scenes. It really plays with moral ambiguity; there are few characers in it that are purely good or bad. Ed Harris was good as usual, and Casey Affleck was good in the lead.

I was wonderin' what was up with that!
Question: Why are our posts appearing above FraggleRockA's? I've noticed this happen in a few other threads 'round here as well. Well, not with Frag, but with the posts posting out of place.

I saw this movie a while back and talked about it at the “Recent Movies you have Seen” thread. I thought it was really good when I first saw it, now looking back on it, I think it was a just a solid film. I didn’t think there was anything too special about the direction, acting or script. It all seemed like re-hashed material to me. This doesn’t mean that I hate it but I just thought it was good, in retrospect.
