Yeah, I was contemplating whether or not to put this in the "comedy" or "horror" section. Though, it wouldnt be right to classify "NBK" as one or the other Oliver Stone has made a hybrid of both that is a scathing satire on the media. I loved it!! But, I can see someone arguing that it's a bunch of pretentious overdone symbolism. The plot for those uninformed deals with two "white trash" serial killers, Mickey and Mallory, played by Woody Harrelson and Julliette Lewis. As they embark on a massive killing spr---err as Mickey calls it a "mass murder" they are sensationalized by the media. My favorite quote is during an interview between three teenagers holding "Kill Me Mickey!" signs...

"Now dont get me wrong, we don't like mass murder and shit, yeah we value human life, but hell if we were serial killers we'd so totally be Mickey and Mallory"

Anyways excellent film, both an uneasily touching love story and a brutal gore flick. After I watched it I couldnt tell whether I loved it or it made me sick. I thought about this for several days. Any movie that gets me thinking heartily deserves my reccomendation!!

When I typed the message above I was in a hurry, but if I were to explain better, Tarantino wrote it, sold it, and Stone rewrote it with different influences in culture that T would not necessarily have used.

What I said, and meant, was that his name was not listed as the writer of the screenplay. If it does on the one that you have...maybe its an old version :P.

Hmm. My post (the most recent) was positioned near the top of this thread. Strange.

I share your enjoyment of, and uneasiness about liking, Natural Born Killers. It's a sly piece of social criticism, a horror film, a comedy, and an Oliver Stone flick with requisite appearance by a mystical Indian in the desert. There's a lot about NBK I like, including the acting by Harrelson, Lewis, and Downey Jr. (although I HATE the over-the-top performance by Tommy Lee Jones, channelling his Two Face character from Batman) and a GREAT cameo by the late, great Rodney Dangerfield. I need to get the DVD version...I only have the two-video tape edition.

You can go here and look at the inside flap of the script where it says all of this stuff.

But...but why did I nearly die of excitement when I saw that (in the opening credits) the story was by: Mr. Tarantino...
