One of my all-time favorite "sleeper" films is "Sneakers", which features an all-star cast (Robert Redford, Ben Kingsley, Sidney Poitier, River Phoenix, Dan Akyroyd), and has a really fun plot for a thriller. If you haven't seen it (and, therefore, don't know why I called this thread "SETEC Astronomy", then check it out. I remember preparing for the night before the california bar examination, knowing that I needed a movie to rent that would completely take my mind off of everthing and would let me relax and chill out for a couple of hours. Sneakers absolutely did the trick.

This movie was dissappointing to me. When you have a cast like that attracting you to a movie, I expect something with a little more substance than a standard hi-tech caper movie, that loses its way altogether in the end. "Brain-dead" movie entertainment, for sure, but thats not what I watch movies for.

I've always enjoyed "Sneakers" as a throwback to old-fashioned entertainment. It was a bit too big-budget and star-studded to be called a "sleeper" though. I liked the mixture of caper-comedy with suspense-mystery, although a few times it almost turned brain-dead, but not enough to not fully recommend it. I always like those movies where everyone has their specialty, so the group really needs them, but often when they have to perform, their "specialty" becomes their weakness. Anyhow, I'm not going to ruin anything in the movie by explaining my gibberish. If you want some fast-paced entertainment, no thinking required, check out "Sneakers."
