Having spent some time in the former soviet union, I have a small collection of Russian music I have grown to really love and respect.
My personal favorite is a group called Okean Elzie and a woman named Zemfira. Some good Rock-Pop-Euro sound. Also, for some more laid back folkier sounding Russian check out the band Lube. Great stuff. There's more of course, but that's my favorites.
