This morning i discovered a blues man from Burkina Faso called Victor Démé. He doesn't have an album out yet, comes out in march i believe. All there is is a MySpace page. I don't know much about African roots blues (i discovered Ali Farka Toure a couple of weeks ago only) but I like what i hear here. I think his style is called Mandingue Blues. The track i heard on the radio was Djon Maya

Mix a little folly with your plans: It is sweet to be silly at the right moment.
If you like Ali Farka Toure, you might want to check out Toumani Diabate. Toure & Diabate recorded a couple albums togather but I prefer Toumani Diabate Symmetric Orchestra's Boulevard de l'Independance most of all. Yeah, a big band and fuller sound but the heart of the material Toure & Diabate performed is still there.
