I would like anyone who listens to any world music to lay down there favorite albums and explain country of origin, type of instruments and sound/style?
I am really interested in exploring some world music but the information on what to pursue is lacking.

You should check out Omega Bugembe Okello, she is a new world music artist from Uganda. Some of her songs and in English and some are in Lugandan. They are really great! Here is her website - www.omegaworldmusic.com
Since everyone seems to be giving you African recommendations ... I will insert my current fav, Nyaruach... she sings in Nuer (South Sudan) but has some lines in English.
