Salvations is no Terminator 2, but I found it a solid piece of entertainment that still follows the general story lines that have come up in previous Terminators. At least for the first 45 minutes the action is good, and most importantly it looks good and even surprisingly real.
I´ve heard a bit of whining from the fans of the series, and the ending is normal, but the movie really just backs up the next movies, considering that this takes place before the future of T1; harder to beat terminators and some wicked timetravel coming later. Still I found that the plot is solid throughout the four films, at least for now.
And what did you expect? a CGI action movie is what Salvations is, nothing more. Still there are very few continual storyline movies around that actually move forward, and as such Salvation holds its own well, as a part of a larger story, alone the plot would be, well, completely incomprehensible, but alone it is not.

I like the CGI of the movie. It's realistic and awesome, but the ending is quite normal in my opinion.

The endings is average, even bad, and the heart-transplant is, among some other things in the movie, ridiculous and impossible, but the story that stretches through the four films and the TV series is still intact and opening up, which for me is the most important thing, along with the action.

I agree on this one.
