This is old news now, but the DGA announced their nominees for Best Director yesterday. They were Clint Eastwood ("Million Dollar Baby"), Marc Foster ("Finding Neverland"), Taylor Hackford ("Ray"), Alexander Payne ("Sideways"), and Martin Scorsese ("The Aviator"). The voters who picked the nominees are directors who work in BOTH film and TV, so it'll be interesting to see what the Academy nominees for director look like (because only film directors vote for those nominees.) I'm thinking that Eastwood and Scorsese are the front-runners, but it's too early to go into it. Any comments?
