Oh, I didnt put team america on the list? I must've forgot it. I liked it slightly more than team america. It is hard to compare the two comedies and which one is better ect. because they are each their own style so I am comparing them on which one I laughed more in and enjoyed.

I still dont see what the big deal with Sideways is. Does it have a secret meaning or message behind it that I am missing? I just find it a movie about wine, interesting, but so what? I heard recently it won the New York Film Critics best picture and LA as well. People really are seeing something that I am not.

The Dreamers didn't come out in the theatres here in Phoenix until February of this year, I don't know if it's technically a 2004 film or not. But it's on my list, great flick.

Super interesting list, PQ, but when "The Incredibles" doesn't break the Top Ten, I've gotta take it with a grain. "The Incredibles" is ONE of the BEST 15 films EVER made!

Yeah... The Incredibles was an excellent film, but I didn't think it was the best Pixar film... (still in the minority that loves Monsters Inc. above all others). Even so, the bottom half of my list would probably look different depending on what day it is, so it hypothetically COULD end up on it... I'm not saying it was a bad film, I guess I was just a little more impressed with the others... And I'm still hitting myself for not including Harry Potter 3 and Primer. Those movies were incredible too! There just isn't enough room for everything, you know.

What I've really liked this year:
1. Mean Girls 2. Saved! 3. Dawn of the Dead 4. Open Water 5. Super Size Me (bonus points for being something I can use when teaching my Business Ethics course...I already assigned parts of Schlosser's _Fast Food Nation_!) 6. Harry Potter and the Prisoner
After catching up on a few movies recently, I'll have to add Collateral, Shrek 2, Kill Bill 2and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind to my (non-ordered) list.
I still want to see the Wes Anderson flick and The Incredibles, and I've got to see Garden State and Napoleon Dynamite, but my faves will likely stay pretty steady.
Many people have ranked Collateral as overrated. I enjoyed it. But after seeing the Bourne Supremacy, I'm puzzled as to why so many people rank it so highly. It was good, but not outstanding. Maybe the fact that it came out this year, which seems to be a down year for movies, is a factor.

The reason that the Bourne Supremacy is so high on my list is because as you stated, this seem to be a bad year for movies. I would have probably put it at number 10, but It shouldn't be as highly rated as I rated it. I just wasn't impressed overall this year.
I am still, however, baffled as to how highly you rated Mean Girls, it was far too cliche for me. And after coming out of highscool not too long ago, it was a sort of "So-what" affair. But whatever floats your boat, no hard feelings here.

Two things: it's not a ranked list (so, I'm not saying it was the #1 movie I saw this year).
Second, it might be because of the so-so quality of the comedies I saw this year. While I haven't seen "Anchorman" and "Dodgeball" yet (both looked stupid but funny), I really can't think of movies that made me laugh out loud this year. "Elf" at times, and "Saved!" to be sure, but not very many others.
I really can't recall, specifically, what I found so funny about "Mean Girls" but I found the writing to be crisp and smart. And I love Tina Fey, both as a writer and an actor.

I, Robot was good. I was expecting far less than it served. All around decent and didn't leave a sour taste in my mouth like so many movies done in this style.

I thought it was good, not excellent though. As for Bourne Supremacy, I enjoyed it, but didnt find it to be that great of a movie. I actually enjoyed many of the movies this year and dont see what all the complaints are about. Bourne Supremacy wasnt neccesarily that good of a movie/plot versus the entertainment in it; fight scenes ect. It wasnt nearly as well done or smart as the Bourne Identity which I really enjoyed.

My list is most certainly changing now, I just finished watching "ESOASM" and was blown away, I also rented, "The Manchurian Candidate," "I Robot," and "The Terminal," none of which I have gotten around to yet. But, hear this, MY list is going to be dramatically changed.

I was surprisingly impressed with I, Robot, which I watched this weekend. I don't know the Asimov story (I'm not really a sci-fi buff at all) but I liked the pacing, the structure, and the effects. Will Smith was pretty good although the female lead was so-so, but the acting, overall, was decent.
I may use this film in the section of my Intro Philosophy course on the nature of minds and brains or the section on free will and determinism...

This year I believe its release in the UK was 2003, but we got it in our theaters in 2004. I must say, Shaun of the Dead, will remain one of my favorites forever more since that day I sat in the theaters and viewed it. To my left, a psychotic old lady that laughed at the graphically violent scenes, to my right, three men that sat a seat apart presumably to give the "anti-gay" vibe. Needless to say, I was at home with my croud. It was a great experience and this movie is a hoot. God that psycho woman laughed loud.
I think Eternal Sunshine of the spotles mind was the best movie i saw this year, and i think Dawn of the death was the best Horror movie i saw this year, Resident evil 2 apocalipse cant even be compared whit this greath Zombie movie Remake!, sure Kill Bill Vol 2. was great but not has great as the first one

I really don't see what the big deal is about "I Robot." There were some pretty well done things in it, such as the plot which was a suprise. But, I have never really been a fan of Will Smith (and people pick on Keanu Reeves acting) and he drops my rating down significantly. I will have to get back to you on my list, I still have to see "The Manchurian Candidate" remake.
