Are you kidding me????? There is some real choice and quality on this list. "Eternal sunshine....." wins it all for me so far, but there are things I have yet to see on this list ( loooking forward to "The aviator). Charles Kaufman MUST win best original screenplay, regardless.

You know the Academy....It is Scorsese's turn. I'm a huge fan, but do not want him to get the pity win. Yes...he lost to first time actor-turned-directors TWICE!!!! HE should have won both those years, as many agree. He will win this year. I liked Sideways better, and think that will win. But director will go to Scorsese. It's a great film, and if he loses Eastwood(haven't seen it yet) may get his second.

Quality? yeah but choice...no! It's the same commercial, predictable crap that they nominate every year!! Sure there are some nicely done categories (Best Actress comes to mind) where there is no obvious front runner but it's much MUCH too safe. Period.

Farenheit 9/11 is the best picture of 2004. Everything else I wouldn't even wanna see the trailor for.
