Anybody watch this show? I missed the pilot, but checked it out last night. For those who may not know, it stars Tom Cavanaugh (of Ed fame) as an A&R guy for an indie record label. It sort of reminds me of Ed, in that it's an hour long comedy/drama. So far it shows a lot of promise and I think it's definitely an above average show. I also figured most of the music freaks in these forums would be all over this show considering it revolves around an indie record label.

I watched the pilot and half of last night's show(i recorded the second 1/2). So far I enjoy it. One thing I am going to be interested in is how they "work in" the music. In the first episode they had "The Fallen" by Franz playing in the background in a scene, and there is an Interpol poster in the office of the indie label. So far when they speak of music, it's all nostalgic with talk of Dylan and whatnot. I'll be interested to see what bands they throw around in converstaions.
----------------------- It's been emotional.

I found the fact-checking on the show to be bad, as best. An indie label with posters of both other indie label artists (INterpol) and major label artists (Augustana, a Sony/BMG band) ain't gonna happen. The etiquette in the biz is that you are allowed to put up autographed items and/or photos of you with other label's artists, but not much more.
Also, you'd think a guy with the alleged musical knowledge that Tom has would know not to lump Hanson in with the lip-synchers he bashed (Ashlee Simpson) in the first ep. Hanson was not N*Sync: they wrote, produced, and played all of their songs themselves. And WHY would an indie label want to get a teen-pop singer FROM ANOTHER LABEL to headline their charity gig?
Poorly researched, poorly conceived, at least from the music biz end of things.
Moot point, I guess. It's already cancelled.
