The pro critics are calling this another "Northern Exposure" and they are right. This one is also NOT filmed anywhere in Alaska and has some major inconsistencies that real Alaskans can spot a mile away! My husband says I shouldn't watch it anymore - it gave me a headache and pissed me off.

It's a good thing there are no inconsistencies in other TV programs, police or medical shows, for instance and I'm sure they will stop filming in Hollywood just to apease the people that prefer the geographical authenticity. It's aTV show. Get over it!

If a TV show pisses you off and gives you a headache, you should stop watching it. But I agree with Walt...expecting a show to be 100% realistic is expecting WAY too much from TV.

The majority of TV shows are not filmed in the places they claim to be...why should this one be expected to be different? Battlestar Galactica isn't filmed in outer space...neither was Star Trek, but I'm pretty sure that's a moot point for fans of those shows.
