While I love the progress that the American version made in its second season, it still can't surpass the British original. Ricky Gervais is a comic genius who played the role of David Brent brilliantly.

However, I don't want this to become a UK vs. US thread (though I'm sure it will). I just wanted to make sure diehard fans of the original had a place to hang their hats.
