Not sure if this thread exists elsewhere, but I could not locate it. Boondocks is one of the better television series on television, in that it is legitimately satirical and unafraid of negative feedback. A couple of my favorites are "The Trial of Robert Kelly," "The Passion of Ruckus" and "Granddad's Fight." Thoughts?

Very. The series is actually in between seasons right now, so Cartoon Network is not airing any re-runs, but you can purchase the box set which is well worth the price.

Quotes don't give this show justice but I found some for you.

Yeah, Boondocks isn't really a quote show. It's kind of like a Spike Lee movie with more humor in it.

While I enjoy the show there are still so many problems with it. It's preachiness can kill any sort of real meaning. Also the show has yet to settle into a type of humor, some episodes are very much like a modern day episode of the simpsons, and others use realistic humor. A good example are the random fight scenes (an extremely violent one between the two children) that are completely out of place. I'd love to see the show get better and become as high quality as animation.

I agree with you about the preachiness and the random violence... I own the box set and love the TV Series but was dissapointed with the Season Finale which I thought was more racist than humorous. I think it's a great show with so much comedic value and the box set is worth every penny out of the forty dollars I payed for it a month ago.

One thing I hope the show does is make the jokes about black people that only blacks can make. Like the Dave Chappelle sketch where he's in blackface howling about how much he loves fried chicken, but it's not racist because he's black.

Actually, Dave Chappelle thought it was racist & never wanted that sketch aired. He noticed white people laughed a little too much at it. It is one of the reasons he left the show.

'The Boondocks' has only one real racist & it's Ruckus, the catch is that he's black & he hates black people. This is like Chappelle's black white supremist sketch & it is funny! As for the violence between the boys, it is reminicant of Anime & that is what I believe they were shooting for. Although, I remember fighting with my brother & it was only a notch below this. (We didn't know martial arts & didn't use a sword but, there was chair throwing & I did use a broomstick on him once.)

The humor is great & the show is nowhere near as preachy as the comic strip. I love intelligent shows & this one is smart & funny. A perfect combination! I'm looking forward to the next season.

"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"
