Well, I've got spring break this week and found out that the public library had the entire prisoner series on tape. I'm planning on getting through the whole season finally. I've seen a few random episodes here and there and always liked them, but have never been able to see the entire series. I watched episode 1 last night and it was great.

Anyone else here have any thoughts on this show?

Also, anyone here a fan of the mid-90s Prisoner inspired series Nowhere Man? I still think it was one of the best seasons of tv I have ever watched.

I think those were released for the first time on tape back in the late 80s. My local video store inexplicably ordered the entire run and I had the pleasure of watching the series start to finish for the first time.

The Prisoner was one of those wonderful TV shows I'm amazed was ever made in the first place. I cannot think of any part of it that could have possibly had mass appeal when it was made or since. It was entertaining, challenging. and even maddening.

I'm reluctant to go on much more until you've watched a few episodes, klt, but would love to shoot the breeze about them as you do.

Now, as for Nowhere Man, I can only say, "Wha?" I've never heard of it. Prisoner influenced? Tell me more!

Nowhere Man was one of the many mid-90s shows that got made because of the popularity of the x-files. It is basically about a guy who loses his identity and then has to run from a vast conspiracy that wants to get information from him. It was only on for one season, as it never really caught on. Apparently, the show was the consolation to the shows creater after his bid to do a remake of the prisoner was rejected. I'm still waiting for someone to put it out as a dvd. There are bootlegs available, but always for extremely high prices.

I downloaded the entire series of this show through a torrent. Very cool show.

I was always confused by the end of that Simpsons episode where Homer has the Mr. X website and then he's kidnapped and put on an island. The island was a big homage to The Prisoner, and Patrick McGoohan played the role he did on the show.

Here's the link to the torrent.

Nowhere Man was a pretty good show at first, but you kept watching for it to go somewhere with it's plot, and it never really did until the absolute last episode, which just sort of said "The answer to all these conspiracies is...an even bigger conspiracy that we're never going to explain!"

The Prisoner was a great show. Extremely conceptual, stylized and intellectual.

The last episode, again, was...well....let's just say, it was really post-modern, and a lot of people didn't like it. I don't mind it though, because all the other episodes were just so awesome.

Then again, if you tease some major questions throughout the whole series, and never really give answers to them, you should expect to piss off some fans.
