"Mystery Science Theater 3000" is easily one of the most successful shows ever made, up there with greats like "South Park", "Simpsons", and "Sesame Street". It ran for ten seasons, had some of the biggest fan gatherings ever made, made some of the most DVD sales over any other comedy series, and even had its own feature length movie.
Sadly, this wonderful series had come to an end.
Anyways, I have made a compiling list of the five most important moments in the history of the saga. If you want to, you can make your own list, or critique mine. Well, here it goes!

10. "MANOS: THE HANDS OF FAITH"
Most people know it as one of the single worst films ever made. To Big Brains Inc., it was a big break. Before this episode came out, MST3K was already building great popularity and began its fan club. So what did this episode do? It carried the show up a notch. Currently known as one of the greatest episodes ever, "Manos" pushed this show's popularity to hights greater than expected.

9. JOSH LEAVES/MURPHY COMES
We all now know Murphy to be the definitive Tom Servo. But originally, early MST3K member Josh was Tom Servo. The main difference of these two was the enthusiasm and realism put into the character. While Josh started it, all MST3K fans distinguish Kevin Murphy as Tom Servo. So it was a great day when Josh gave left the show and Kevin Murphy, who was originally just a behind-the-scenes-guy, decided to take over. Without this decision, Tom Servo would not be as popular as he is now, lagging down the show.

8. LARRY LEAVES/TV'S FRANK COMES
So what is more important than Murphy becoming Servo? Why, TV's Frank coming onto the screen! Before TV's Frank, Forester's original lacky was Larry. Larry was played by the same guy that did Tom's original voice as well(aka Josh). Larry was more annoying than funny, and seemed to slow down the show a bit whenever he was on. So once Larry was gone, TV's Frank took his place. Now I am not saying that Frank is better than Tom Servo. If anything, Servo is a bit funnier. The reason why it's so important is because without TV's Frank, the show would have eventually come to a stop. According to a poll, TV's Frank was one of the most popular characters on the show. If Josh was still Tom Servo, it would do a little damage, but if Larry was still on, the show would have had more of a chance of stopping. Frank also gave way to more likable villains such as Bobo(they seemed to hit it off when they met) and other bumbling goons.

7. MIKE AND JOEL MEET FACE TO FACE
This is, without a doubt, one of my all-time favorite moments in the history of TV, as it is with 97% of all MST3K fans. In the episode "Soultaker", TV's Frank and Joel return to the show for a brief while, and then are off. But in that moment, MST3K fnas all over the globe cheered. They finally got to see Joel and Mike side by side, with the Bots finally getting to see Joel once again. It's a great feeling to see the Bots reunited with their fatherly figure, and Joel gets to teach Mike some of the things he knows. This was important because it soared the show's ratings and led way to a miraculous final season.

6. TV'S FRANK DIES
As sad as it is, #6 in the countdown is the demise of TV's Frank. Being brought to 2nd Banana Heaven by Torgo the White, Frank was whisked away from Deep 13 and never heard from again until season 10(in the episode "Soultaker", when we find out TV's Frank works as a Soultaker himself). So for years, TV's Frank was gone. The fans watched in sorrow as one of the most beloved characters left. But happily, the show went on to stay fantastic, only now to have an emotional blow on the viewers.

5. BEGINNING OF SEASON 8
The beginning of season eight of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" changed the show greatly. For one, it was now on the Scifi Channel. But is that it? No. Also, Trace was no longer Crow(but well replaced, gladly), the villains were changed(Clayton's mom Pearl and her assistants Bobo and Brain Guy took over), the setting changed a bit, the movies became a bit more violent(many rated R), and more guest stars and characters appeared than before. A lot was changed, making it a very important part of MST3K history. Still, the series was still great, and the fans were still cheering.

4. KTMA YEARS
This was a very important time in the history of MST3K. This was the season before the official cable broadcast of the show, and was essentially the pilot to the show. Using great humor and comedy, the show was approved for new seasons to hit the airwaves, and the rest is history.

3. DR. FORRESTER "DIES"/TRACE LEAVES THE SHOW
Essentially the end of a long-lived saga of Comedy Central's turn with this show, Trace decided to leave the show after seven long seasons. With him left a long saga that was the only thing the fans were comfortable with: Forrester doing some crazy antics, and sending the movie to the Bots. Plus, Trace was the original and widely popular voice of the wisecracking Crow. This devastated the show greatly, but they soon got back on their feet to stay on top with three great final seasons.

2. JOEL RETURNS TO EARTH/MIKE GOES TO THE SATTELITE OF LOVE
What would be a bigger importance than the main villain and one of the Bots leaving the show? The main character of the series. Everyone was surprised that midst season 5, Joel left the SOL. Everyone was certain that this was the end of the show. Surprisingly, no. The show put on Mike Nelson, an essentially younger version of Joel. At first, it was hard to except that Joel was gone. But Mike was somehow able to be just as great as Joel, and toted the show forward. It was an amazing transition, and the show still went on.

And our number one is.............

1. MIKE AND THE BOTS GET BACK TO EARTH
This was easily the most important moment of the series. It always is for a show. After ten widely successful seasons, the show had come to a tear-jerking end. People everywhere sadly accepted that this amazing show was gone, and Big Brains Inc.'s biggest project ever was gone. But with this, the show's popularity still kept up through DVD sales and YouTube videos. No matter how hard you try, you can never keep a good show down.
