Hey tabuno, while I agree that the new series is excellent, I am a greater fan of the '70's era when Tom Baker was the 4th doctor. The writing, and direction, performances are excellent. Amateur sets and props make not a whit of difference when a show is written so well. Flash Gordon serials are a very different beast, I would argue, but, either way, it's wonderful that the new Doctor is picking up US fans. We Tardis heads desperately want this great run to continue.

Some of the United States audience is likely spoiled by the millions of dollars spent on special effects and traditionally avoided science fiction as a serious art form during the 50s and 60s until StarTrek as a television series began to take hold. The balance between good quality production and good script sometimes goes hand in hand for many. However as with StarTrek, the original set designs back then seem to pale by comparison with today's sets yet like you commented, the script helped to tremendously to keep the syndicated original episodes interesting and lively enough to retain a special attractive appeal. I too hope that the British keep up their notable and long-running hit series as I would hope more American counterparts will discovery this wonderful Dr. Who.

Actually, it just occurred to me that you are watching Christopher Eccleston as the doc, right? Cos he's there and gone after one season, so don't get too attached, ha ha.

Your post is confusing because the initial post of May 1, 2008 refers to a trailer you made. This phrase usually refers to a short edited version of a full length movie. When I go to your link I see some BBC Website and I have no idea what you're talking about nor what to look at that you may have made. That's one reason I haven't replied. Another actually is that since I live in the United States and I haven't seen the newer episodes I haven't paid much attention to this thread since I wouldn't have much to contribute.
