LoL. Yeah, I don't remember how much time has supposedly passed in the Lost world (I want to say it's been a couple months), but all the dudes just have the 5 day stubble going on. They'd have to be shaving at some point (meaning you'd see at least one episode where they were clean shaven) or they're just lousy at growing beards - like Cliff Claven in the episode of Cheers where they have the beard contest.

A little TV suspension of disbelief? Kinda like how Jack Bauer can go for 24 hours without having to pee?

Urine is scared of Jack Bauer. It's better it just stay where it is and not draw attention to itself.

Actually, I do remember one scene from the first season where Jack was shaving with someone's razor from the luggage. He had a little vanity mirror, too, I seem to remember. And Charlie has a beard!

Hello...this is my first post. Hasn't anyone seen the new episode? It's dynamite! (Could it possibly be that nobody here watches?)

I caught the Season 4 premiere, it was much better than expected. It should be interesting to see who lives and dies.

The story has been moving along quite satisfactorily so far, though the over-use of guns is really friggin' annoying me. The idea of Ben as a wordly uber lord is a delicious twist. But the sooner Kate and Juliette bite the dust, the better. They drive me nuts! I can't stand a second of either of them on screen.

Anyone else think that last week's Lost was pretty much the best episode in a looooong time? Also - Claire. Yum. She's been my #1 since the premiere, even when she had the baby belly. Though it doesn't look too good for her now...

yeah Chamberk! What the hell is this creeping feeling that Claire doesn't make it?? Unacceptable..grumble, grumble. As for the latest episode..you mean the Desmond one right? Finally, Lost gets back to doing what I most enjoy about it - whacko s/f surrealism. Sure it's fun to just run around with Ben and Locke shooting one another and raising one quizzical eyebrow, but Lost works best when it travels that 'eerie island out of time' storyline. I got chills way back when, when Sun sailed past those giant stone feet...I was riveted by the faux old footage of the Dharma group.....I just don't need domestic dramas with Kate (blecch) and Jack and Sawyer!! More of undersea labs and electric fences and animal anomalies...sigh...

Also, most of Desmond's episodes all have a degree of emotional weight anchoring them. Last week's episode would have been good, but not great without the whole Penny aspect to it. And I'm right there with you with Sun, Ish.

I noted last week that Desmond's episodes are usually the most intriguing episodes on Lost. I think he's also the most noble character on the show. Unlike a lot of the other characters, he has no hidden agenda or dark past. His only motivation is his love for Penny.

Posted by PaddyG In almost three years haven't you figured out I don't read your posts! Except that one. Whew!! With that qualifying sentence, you narrowly avoided a paradox...very Lost. And I'm right there with you with Sun, Ish. She's so lovely hey? In my 'umble op the writers should be making 'Sun throws off her barbie girl background and goes Rousseau' type stories. What I would give to see a crossbow strapped to Sun's back, and some torn and minimal jungle wear. Seriously tho', when are all the powerful father figures going to get together? Sun's dad, Penny's dad et al...we must have some star chamber scene with heads in shadow as they discuss their sprog's fate, yes?

I was thinking the same thing. Seems like this might be the season for it to happen after seeing Penny's dad buying the log of the boat shipwrecked on the island.

I haven't seen it yet, but the new episode is a Juliet?? All I can wish for is that it delves deeper into the American headquarters of the company, and maybe give us something on the fact that certain individuals never age...oh, and then Juliet falls and dies. Thanks Network Gods...
