I’m surprised I couldn’t find anything on Dexter on MetaCritics forum. This show is so messed up, but so awesome at the same time, has anyone else been watching it? I saw the entire first season last year as it was airing, and now, I assume I am near the end of season 2.

I was a bit worried where the show was going go when Season 2 started; but they have definitely kept it interesting as it’s settled in. With each episode I’m becoming more anxious with how the end is going to play out, how is Dexter going save him self this time.
Apparently, Michael C. Hall said it’s unlikely that they won’t be making a Season 3.

I just thought Season 1 was more exciting. The cat and mouse of the two killers was very exciting.
I haven't thought the thing with Dokes or the Lila character have brought enough tension or excitement.
That being said, I think the last few episodes should be great. I'm curious to see how Dexter gets out of this too, especially with Debra dating Lundy.

Season 1 was excellent; when I first watched it I didn’t suspect a thing about Rudy, which made it all the more exciting as the show unveiled more and more twists. I definitely agree about the cat and mouse factor between the 2 characters.
I have to admit, part of me is hoping that Dexter will get caught and executed (although I highly doubt it), and how classic of an ending do you think that would be? Just having him strapped to the chair, prepped for execution with his inner monologue, as all the characters from the show stare in shock from the observation room.
As much as I like the show, how long can they really go on with the idea before it goes sour? Either way I’ll probably still watch it.
I’m going to assume there is allot of people on here that haven’t even seen Season 1 yet, since I don’t think it has even started airing here in Australia and if so it will have only just started, so I’ll post this next part in black.
I’m wondering what Dexter is going to do about Dokes, it's not going to be as easy framing him now that he knows who Dexter is, and I highly doubt Dokes will go quietly once he is in the hands of the authorities. If Dokes does get caught, there is no way that he won’t at least accuse Dexter of being the ‘Bay Harbour Butcher’, and if he does, my guess would be that Lundy is way too observational and curious minded to disregard that possibility. Will Dexter have to kill Dokes to shut him up and prevent any suspicions from arising? It seems like the only way out for Dexter, if he kills Dokes and dumps the body, the authorities will likely assume the reason they cannot find Dokes is because he “disappeared” to avoid being caught, and they would probably assume he fled the country or something to that effect. May I also add that in one of Dexter’s recent flashbacks, they made a point of establishing that the ‘number 1 rule’ of Harry's code was 'don't get caught', not ‘make sure they’re guilty’, this might make it easier for Dexter to justify killing Dokes, even though he is innocent.
Didn't know you could black stuff out. Kind of cool. I doubt he will kill Dokes. Part of the fun of Dexter is we can kind of root for him, since he's killing bad guys. If he kills Dokes I think that will take away that part of the show. I don't know how he will get out of it, but I just don't envision Dokes getting killed (unless of course, Dexter somehow finds out that he is actually bad).
Hope I did this blackout thing right. First time doing it.

The last two episodes of the season have been leaked, and I'm very happy with them. A lot of people haven't really "felt" the second season like they did the first, but I kinda the feel the opposite. I read the book, I knew who the ITK was going to be (albeit, things were a little different) - where as the resolution to the second season came as a surprise to me.
For those who don't mind being spoiled (DON'T HIGHLIGHT UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SPOILED FOR THE LAST TWO EPISODES)
Lila finds Doalkes in the cabin and kills him before the FBI finds him to protect Dexter, and Dexter in turn plots to kill Lila. Lila sees through it and runs away, but Dexter gets her anyway

Sk, Why do you have to do that? I'm too tempted. It's like when you get to the end of the book and you want to turn the page and see the end. Anyway, I was able to resist and will get back to you when I watch them.

Tonight is going to be sweet!
No problem, Glad I could help out a fellow fan! The last two episodes brought an exhilarating close to the season. Now, all we have to do is wait for a third season... If there is going to be a third season that is.

I thought the final episode of this season was pretty good, but overall I was underwhelmed compared to Season 1. As I said the competition with the Ice Truck Killer provided lot more suspense. I thought the suspense this season was lacking, especially for a show that's about a serial killer.
On the plus side there is going to be a season 3.

I thought the ending was pretty good, I was satisfied with the way Dokes died, although it’s disappointing to lose his character, it allowed Dexter to justify killing off Lila, which balanced things for me because her character was really starting to annoy me.
All and all, the chronicles of the Ice Truck Killer were more compelling in opinion, but I still enjoyed Season 2, and we got to explore deeper into Dexter’s past, there are a few things that I question, but I’ll leave it alone.

I completely agree with all of that. I felt the ending could have been better, but it sets up season 3 nicely, so that should be good.

Here is oz we are very behind, i just saw the second last episode of season 1 last night. Did anyone think that one was an extreme change in pace? They seemed to have a slow build throughout the series, then in the space of 20 minutes everything just seems to come to a head. Despite that, can't wait for the finale next week!!

I actually felt the same away about the pace change near the end of season 1, but it all pays off in the end.
