what are the possible upsets of this years oscars?

I think a huge upset could be Abigal Breslin taking the Oscar over Jennifer Hudson, and Alan Arkin taking it over Eddie Murphy; for best supp. actress and best supp. actor, respectively. Too bad, since Little Miss Sunshine was just a genuinely bad and cloying and forgettable movie.

Peter O'Toole has also emerged as a dark horse in the best actor race--that would be an upset over Whitaker.

And we're all still fairly unclear as to whether the big one will go to Babel, The Departed, or Little Miss Sunshine. Whether Babel or Departed gets it is not the upset issue --either one would be expected. But, so help me God if LMS gets it. What a joke.

I was not happy about Jennifer Hudson winning but I was more dissapointed that Pan's Labyrinth lost in the Best Foreign Film Category.
