Wow. Must I say how much stupid people fill this thread. Radiohead is nothing compared to Muse.
Honestly, depends what you're looking for. But, I can tell that not one person who has listened to Muse actually got into the core of Muse. There are some amazing songs, and some on the lesser side, but once you get into the core of Muse, there is no song that is bad. Every song of Muses' is genius, and you wouldn't know that unless you've listened to them for a while.
There are songs I didn't like of theirs, but now absolutely LOVE. Muse sound NOTHING like Radiohead. Quit being fucking dumbasses comparing the two. Probably a lot of ignorant Americans around here .. "DURR, OMG THEY HAVE TEH SAME VOCALS... ERR THAT MEANS THEY RIPPED THEM OFF..." Typical American mentality.
Stupid fucking Americans. And if you're not American.. then.. wow. You're just fucking retarded.
Say what you will, but if you dare to say Radiohead has ANYTHING on Muse live, whether you like it or not, you're just simply a buffoon. Muse playing live has no competition, period.

Andy, I adore Muse. I'm American. Do I think they're better than Radiohead? I don't know that i'm prepared to make that statement. They are both fantastic. It's difficult for me to say which one I like better.
Where did the comparison between Radiohead and Muse start?
Even my friend was egging me on calling Muse a "poor man's Radiohead" when I decided to see them live.
Muse and Radiohead are two different animals to me. Both great in their own right but I would say I like Muse more. I was in awe in how great of a concert Muse pulled off.
Besides does everything have to be a stick* measuring contest of who's better then who?

Muse is cool and all, but I think Radiohead blows them out of the water.
Note to all flamers: If you are going to join just to call us ignorant, make sure the when you're 'YELLING' at us, that you can spell correctly. Also, coherency is important...oh well.

I remember sitting in a bar last summer when a song came that left me in shock. Being a huge Radiohead fan, and anxiously awaiting their new album(at the time), I was fairly sure I was hearing Radiohead, of which, I hadn't previously heard. As there is very little I haven't heard of one of my all-time favorite bands, I was completely confounded. I hadn't heard of anything new coming out, and I would have. The song as I later found out, was Muse's "Stockholm Syndrome". The bar was crowded, but what I could make out was pure Radiohead, specifically the chorus. Matt Bellamy sounds like a Thom Yorke imitator (at least on their earlier stuff). Although Muse has some very intriguing work that I would normally have high interest in, I don't really listen to them because they sound like "copy-cats" in my opinion. It gets old fast. Plus, lyrically they are so horribly lame and over-indulgent. Plus, I hear now they are making an "electronica" album. Give me a break. They seem to be Radiohead 5 years too late. Maybe not, but I can't get over that feeling when I listen to Muse.

Can I vote worst post of 2007? I'm not American, but everything you say spells idiot. When you have to debase an entire nation of people to make a pretty ill-conceived point, you're clearly inbred. That's okay. It's not your fault yu're inbred. If you avoid having sex with your sister maybe the gene pool in your family will grow, and in future generations, inbreeding will decrease. I doubt you've even seen Radiohead live anyhow. When you make ridiculously indulgent comments such as "Radiohead sound NOTHING like Muse"(why else is this an argument?) and how you can "tell" what people are thinking, all the while acutally believing that Muse is better than Radiohead.... I mean, wow, try your cousin, preferably the more distant the better....

Hey, he may have been in the wrong (I laughed my ass off when I first read that post), but when you say stuff like that, you're no better.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again; if you're under the impression that Muse sound like Radiohead, then you clearly don't know Muse's work, period.
I have a recording of every song that Muse has released, also, I have a recording of every song Radiohead has released. I've also seen both bands several times.
Now, one last time:
THE TWO BANDS DON'T SOUND THE SAME YOU FREAKIN IDIOTS. NOW SHUT UP ABOUT IT!
Muse does not sound like Radiohead. Yorke sounds like Bellamy. The major similitaries end there. Period. It gets so old listening to people write off Muse just because they heard one song and the lead singer sounds like Yorke. bah

It's almost as if you're implying that Muse rip off Radiohead...

What are you talking about? That tracklist looks nothing like a Radiohead album! You are just a dumb American with bad taste in music.

I hate Muse. I think Radiohead is a great band running out of steam. Despite the fact that I despise Muse's whole philosophy of songwriting (i.e. more MORE MORE ALWAYS MORE), I can safely say that they will probably grow and produce interesting albums in the future (this rumor of an electronic album contains some promise). I remember hearing "Supermassive Black Hole" before the new Muse album came out and I was actually surprised that they decided to change their sound. In other words I think Muse have the potential to be a decent group.
However, they MUST abandon their horribly heavy-handed dramatics and tendency to reach an "epic" climax on EVERY SONG. There is a word, "subtlety," that would do Muse a lot of good. Oh yeah and the lyrics are god awful (but that could be overlooked if the music was halfway interesting).
