Anyone into Amy Winehouse? Her new album Back To Black is perfect for those of us who always felt the Shangri-La's just never sang enough about sex and drugs...

I just got my hands on a copy of this record - i have been reading some stuff about it in NME for awhile now. I have to say, I dig it. Totally reminds me of Lauryn Hill.

Great album. I found that the more the song was about sex & drugs the more it worked and the better I liked it. I'd be interested to hear her add social commentary to the music. That would be a real kick, mixed in with the R&B girl-group sound.

Thats how the modern blues should sound.I can't get enough of her voice , probably the best female voice of her generation.A brilliant singer and performer , with really strong tunes and lyrics that can break your heart.
I loved her debut album; was all pumped up for "Back To Black" after I heard the first single. There's nothing on the album quite as good as "Rehab" IMO and the songs near the end lack memorable melodies, but it's still pretty damn solid and enjoyable. Amy's got some real personality and talent; hopefully she can sort out her life and doesn't end up as another music biz casualty.
