Go to Sleep, Let Down and Where I End and You Begin are all tied for my favorite song. I know alot of you are going to disagree with me but after listening to every one of their CDs, I've come to the conclusion that Hail to the Theif is my favorite one. It's considered by many to be not as good as previous albums because of the lack of experimental tracks, but for me that makes for a more polished and refined sound.

Those two from "Hail" are probably my faves along with "There, There." Overall, I feel the album sounds like the album you would expect Radiohead to make in 2003, except that before they always did the unexpected. For that reason, along with the fact that many songs sound like lesser versions of previous album songs (ie. "Sail to the Moon" = "Pyramid Song", "Scatterbrain" = "Knives Out"), it remains my least favorite RH album. I don't claim my opinion as fact, though, as many critics gave it high marks. I'd be interested in hearing people's opinions on what b-sides are the best. I have a couple CD-Rs of RH b-sides that I enjoy nearly as much as the albums. Some of these tracks rank among my favorites overall: "Cuttooth," "A Reminder," "Fog," and "Worrywort," among others come to mind.

I think the reason Hail to the Thief has been put down as not as good as previous albums is that it doesn't cohere as well as previous albums (OK computer and Kid A especially). But really now, it's still a fantastic album, and I agree with you completely that some of the songs off of it are destined to become classics. (Like Sit Down, Stand Up; There, There; A Wolf at the Door.) So what if it isn't an art-album "experience"--Radiohead can still make superb music without it being in a neat little package. They can do anything they want, and it will be as close to perfect as you can get. Mind you, this kind of praise was what led them to make Kid A and Amnesiac, and I love them all the more for that. Keep changing and keep challenging!

Interesting to see 'Let Down' come up a few times. A bit of trivia I just read regarding this song is that they have never ever played it live. Confirm Anyone? For me 'Everything in its right place'. The first track I ever heard off Kid A. Introduced a new direction sonically for Radiohead, and blew my mind.

Doesn't seem likley what With Thom singing a duet with himself. I think without a recording that it could prove a bit tricky.

I wish they would, though. One of my favorite songs ever.

I've had a live version on my computer for years. I'm not sure where it's from but it's definitely Radiohead. There is no duet part on it (the end part right?). He just sings the background part and it ends instrumentally. Also, someone says "Hi" at the beginning (I can't tell if it's Thom, though). I will tell you without a doubt though that it has been performed live.

I thought the whole thing was essentially a duet? Very cool effect...I'm not sure how it would sound live, surely very different.

All these entries and only one person has even MENTIONED "Idioteque"?! And I can't believe I've seen NO mentions of "Airbag"! Crazy. My overall choice is "Idioteque," bar none. If I were forced to choose one their ROCK songs, however, I'd probably go with "Airbag."
