Yes, I've heard (and heard of) Our Lady Peace. I remember when "Starseed" was a moderately big radio hit. I've personally never cared for the band, but I know they're pretty popular in Canada.

On behalf of Canada I apologize for Our Lady Peace. Man, they sold out after their first album. Talk about an irritating singer. They are huge here, not Tragically Hip huge, but still very popular.

Well, I suppose the US has a lot more to apologize for.

But, on the other hand, we've got K-Fed and Paris Hilton. Game, set, match.

It's always boggled my mind how the Tragically Hip can be so huge up there and not a blip on the radar screen here. I love those guys, though.

I know, it's strange. I haven't been into the Hip for years now, but I heard their new single and it's actually really great. I think the Hip should be doing well in other areas of the world, the music is accessible, lyrics are intelligent and they do mix it up a fair bit. My only knock against them is that their lead guitarist could really use a major haircut. See him here: Cut your hair!

IMO, Gord Downie is one of the most literate and enigmatic front men for any rock band.

I think I saw Our Lady Peace at a festival 5 years ago or something... they were decent. They have a few good songs/hooks ("Clumsy", "Superman's Dead"), and then a lot of boring post-grunge stuff.

Clumsy and Superman's dead appear on the album "Clumsy", which is probably the best Our Lady Peace album. I listened to this band like...10 years ago.

i think i was maybe 14 or 13 when it was released and im 23 now.

clumsy was a semi popular cd and then they did sort of drift off with popularity release after release.

i saw olp in atl about a year ago and they put on a good show. raine, the frontman, jumped off stage took the girl i broughts camera from her hands in mid song, jumped back on stage while singing and took pictures of himself and the crowd. then gave it back.

now, that was a cool show.

I used to have Much Music on my cable about 10 years ago and they freaking wore out Our Lady Peace. I actually learned to half-like "Clumsy" and "Superman's Dead" and went out and bought the album. I can actually remember that I bought "Clumsy" in the same purchase as buying "The Bends." I remember alternating the cd's in my car for a while.

Well, "Clumsy" was sold to a used cd store around 2000 and I still own "The Bends."

I got into OLP when 'Naveed' was released (does that date me?). Excellent album. As some have said, you either like Raine's voice or you don't. For some reason I do. The band has not been consistent over the years (some tracks are clearly rock, some grunge, some top 40), but I don't think too many are. I moved from shouting distance of Vancouver BC several years ago and since then the only times I've even heard the band have been in my CD player. They definitely are not as well known here in the central US.
