I've been reading stuff on the net that hints to the Monkeys coming out with yet another album in the coming year, I hear to be released in May.

Can anyone help me verify this?

Also, has anyone else heard the b-sides to the new Teddy Picker CD Single; "Bad Woman," "Nettles," and "The Death Ramps?"

If you have, do you sense the same change in style that I do? And does that scare you a little?

Ok... So no one seems to be paying attention, but that's ok...

This is regarding the B-Sides of the Teddy Picker CDS.

I found out that "Bad Woman" is a cover of a Pat Farrell And The Believers song that they recorded with Richard Hawley (I thought it might be a cover, didn't exactly sound like Alex Turner's usual lyrical style and 'Bad Woman' was just an unusual song title for the band). I found this here.

I also found that the other two songs; "The Death Ramps" and "Nettles" are a diffrent style than Favourite Worst Nightmare because they were pretending to be an entirely diffrent band when they recorded them, claiming they were called Death Ramps. Found here.

Could this third album I've heard about be, in fact, the debut album of a side project? The Death Ramps? Perhaps. But I also found this that says that there will be an album coming out that is a collaboration between Alex Turner and Miles Kane. This could also be the rumored 2008 album. However an article that specifically talks about the Arctic Monkeys; here, states clearly in its sub-title that:

quote:

"New album shows no `sophomore angst' and a third is partly written"

Hmm... I will continue to investigate...

I wish I had someone to talk to about this though... Frowner

Edit: I know most of my citations come from the same forum, but from other things I can find online. All of them are verified.

More news... (Jeeze... This is just me talking to myself... I hope someone wanders upon this and thinks "wow, I'm glad all this information is in one place so I don't have to look for it" and thanks me... Even if no one does, I think I would live Smiler)

As I said in my last post, Alex Turner is doing a collaboration with Miles Kane. Turns out thats not the only person he's working with. James Ford from Simian Mobile Disco and "... a guy called Final Fantasy who does a lot of the Arcade Fire strings," is also in on, what this site calls "Alex Turner's album."

Although they call it a side project, it might be Alex's own debut album (although I hope not, I hope it just a side project experiment). This is, in all likelihood, the album I've been hearing about...

I guess that's done then... Cool

One more... (Unless someone decides to join the topic... Which would be nice since I'd like to talk about my favorite band with someone else on this forum [I'd join an Arctic Monkeys only forum, but I find forums that are dedicated to one thing or one band are usually filled with weirdos and fanatics. Metacritic is the only forum I've found that: 1) I like, 2) Isn't filled with weirdos, and 3) Is filled with people who are generally friendly and know exactly what their talking about Big Grin So thanks guys and gals!)

This is probably totally unrelated to the album mystery, but on the same site as last post, I found an article that talks about a pop "Supergroup" that Turner has created, consisting of himself, Dizzee Rascal, Lily Allen (whom he apparently once offered to have sex with Confused), and James Righton from Klaxons whom he has apparently already started recording with.

This excites me quite a bit because I enjoy Dizzee Rascal, and I enjoyed his last pice of work with Alex Turner which spawned 2 great songs (the original song being "Temptation Greets You Like Your Naughty Friend" from the Arctic Monkeys' Brainstorm CD Single which included Dizzee Rascal rapping on a verse, which became Dizzee Rascal's own sort of remixed version "Temptation" on his lates album Maths And English.

Sorry, I'm a geek. I know... But I love this band Razzer

I'm out for now. Hopefully someone will enjoy this little one-sided compilation of facts. Smiler

I call this, ode to smileys.

Wanders in Confused, thinks Scott may be obsessed with this band, sees a nod to Dizzee Rascal and is Eeker, thinks Scott is Cool.

I didn't get all of that stuff scott was talking about. (And I was too lazy to read it all.) So there isn't a new monkeys cd coming out?

oh , well...for a moment i thought it was my topic (some people here know what i mean...)

i can tell you for sure that they are gonna release a new album in 2008.they dont stop writing new tunes n if you read any Turner's interview you ll see their desire to release new music as soon as they can.they have already new material in their hands and in their current uk tour they are playing some new tunes (they opened the Alexandra Palace show with "Sandtrap" and also they also played 'Put Me In A Terror Pocket'

http://www.dailymotion.com/tag/mark/video/x3olla_arctic...ark-in-a-terro_music but the quality is bad).

they also debuted acoustic versions of another 2 new tracks "The Fire & The Thud" & "Lovers" on Radio 2 (8-12) Jonathon Ross's show : http://rapidshare.com/files/75354924/02_The_Lovers__Acoustic_.mp3.html

http://rapidshare.com/files/75354757/04_The_Fire___The_..._Acoustic_.mp3.html)
......
i like their new b sides.
i love their their collaboration with Richard Hawley in "Bad Woman".Richard Hawley is a great artist and its sad not to see any fan in metacritic.
the "Nettles" , a song they played first time in their US tour is my favourite.
it s in the same motivo as " If You Found This It's Probably Too Late" (brianstorm's b side) n then , about after one minute, they change the rythm (like the key change in "matator" in its 3:45 min) n musically the song comes closer to the second part of FWN with some elements of "do me a favor"(backround electric spanish guitars).it only lasts 1:45 but it definitely rocks.
