quote: I realize that I am cheating with so many "ties" but they are all so good. Also, I decided to leave off the Minus 5, Billy Bragg collaborations and Loose Fur albums because they aren't solely Wilco albums. I hold a special place in my heart for everything they have done and they are arguably the best American band currently making music. I just hope their next album is great.
FKA for president quote: I would agree about every single song on A Ghost is Born being amazing, with the exception of Less Than You Think. I like the actual song part, but all of the noise kills it for me (sorry egg).
That's ok, it's not everyone who is a an ambient/shoegaze fan. I just think personnaly that this "noisy" part really represents our actual denaturalized cold world, it's a track who tells something true. A ghost Is Born is like the album that nobody has the courage to do except Tweedy. An album of tragedies, of sadnesses that we sometimes can't avoid and must accept.

I (residing in Europe) heard about Wilco for the first time a few months ago, guided by a poster on the Amazon-site who made a striking remark on Bach-performances that made me investigate this persons other tastes.
The first Wilco-album I listened to was 'Sky Blue Sky' and I think it is terrific. I sometimes play songs like 'Either Way' and 'Impossible Germany' from youtube to my students to good reviews.
It is interesting to see fans who have been following this band for years rate it so much lower than previous work. I must say that I am inclined to miss the terrific guitar-playing of Nels Cline on the earlier efforts.

1. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 2. Kicking Television 3. A Ghost Is Born 4. Summerteeth 5. Sky Blue Sky 6. Being There 7. A.M. A Ghost is Born might be number 2, but I had to play god with A Ghost is Born to make a version that I can listen to all the way through. While it may seem a bit odd that I put kicking television at number 2, that album is just fantastic, Wilco is great in the studio, but they're even better live.

I've heard that opinion many times. Am i the only one who thinks that Wilco sounds better on CD? But I still think they are awesome live.
