I didn't know whether to post this in indie/alt/ or general discussion, but I am all over the New Pornographers Twin Cinema as full of many outstanding A+++ songs/singles.

Definately this CD is in my top 3, and very front-heavy fuelled with great songs I thought I would start a thread of the top three songs from this release.

Oh man, this is tough. Every time I listen to this album, I seem to have a new favorite. So here's the current list:

Man, I've been all over Twin Cinema since I heard it in the middle of August. I have to say my favorite track, by far:

Don't get the love for Jackie, Dressed in Cobras...find the staccato phrasing incredibly annoying...worst track on album by far...

and I have to say, as much as I like a lot of songs on this album, I hate hate hate the production/mix...it's horrible. The whole things compressed to zero dynamic range, every instrument bleeds into the other with no point of emphasis or differentiation. This album could have been ten times better without the band members having played or sung a single different note if they had someone competent at the controls. Taking a great band and trying to make them sound as bad as The Move, one of my least favorite bands of all time.
