While I don't share your rave review on Kid A and Hail to the Thief, I do share it on "Anyone Can Play Guitar." That's a fan-freakin'-tastic song.
I'm a Bends/OK Computer man, myself. The best Radiohead shows I've seen (out of five) were for these two records. The recent tours have been lackluster, but they've also been in less intimate venues, which may account for the difference.
I'd order the records as follows:
1. OK Computer 2. Bends 3. Kid A 4. Pablo Honey 5. Hail to the Thief (it's grown on me, but it's still not my fave) 6. Amnesiac (I just don't get it. I've tried.)
Although I'd slip my double-disc Aussie b-sides collection in at #3 if I could...

Kid A is a not-too-distant second. There are a few creative misfires, but songs as powerful as "How to Disappear Completely" and "Motion Picture Soundtrack" are enough to secure a place above The Bends (IMO).

I was listening to the Velvet Underground's "Sunday Morning" and for some reason, it had an even bigger feeling of familiarity than it already had. The bells, the soft vocals..."No Surprises"! Does anyone else hear the resemblence?
I just heard that Velvet song on MusicMatch Radio. Yes, it sounds very similar.

Okay...I don't think anyone can be wrong here. Ok computer. Kid A. Ok Computer. Kid A. It's a coin toss. The real question is the best single recording??????
Even the compilations(lost Treasures is simply a gold mine...acoustic version of Killer Cars and faster Thinking About You...) and Com Lag is excellent for remyxomatosis.
Best single recording though....Everything In It's Right Place (Let Down....close second)

Best Radiohead recording... bloody hard. In no particular order:
Let Down No Surprises Motion Picture Soundtrack Fake Plastic Trees How To Disappear Completely Subterranean Homesick Alien There There (probably the only really good song from Hail to the Thief)
There's a top seven for you.

I'm an "Anyone Can Play Guitar" fan. I know it's not cool to like pre-Bends Radiohead, but I do. All you hipsters can gossip amongst yourselves. I'm also very uncool because I don't like the most recent Radiohead records. BLASPHEMY!!!

Hail/Thief is #4 in my books. Great album, so I'm with Crash on this. Takes more listens, but the more the better...time will tell, if they were ahead of themselves and everybody else on Kid A, Hail may prove likewise...
Any news on new LP??

Well, Hail to the Thief certainly isn't a bad album. There are a few other tracks I like, but "There There" is the track which stands out the most to me.
However, "2+2=5" will always hold a special place in my heart, being the first Radiohead song I ever heard (yes, I'm a n00b).

Strange as it may seem, I honestly feel Radiohead gets better with every album (with the exception of Amnesiac), and that Hail to the Thief is their best album yet, and the best representation of what Radiohead is. They've refined their songwriting skills to perfection, the band is totally in their element, and it's just great song after great fucking song. I keep vacillating between this one and Kid A as the best, but I think I've finally decided.
Hail to the Thief is the best.

1. (Tie) OK Computer and Kid A (I know it's a copout but it's impossible to rank one higher than the other) 2. The Bends 3. Hail to the Thief 4. Amnesiac 5. Pablo Honey
And my favourite tracks are:
1. Everything in its right Place 2. Karma Police 3. Idioteque 4. Fake Plastic Trees 5. There There

OK Computer is easily my favorite Radiohead album. I like the experimental turn in Kid A, but I don't think it was followed up well with Amnesiac (Which was actually, outtakes from Kid A, or am I mistaken?)
The Bends is also enjoyable (Comes in at #3). I don't know about Hail To The Thief, it seems like a middleground between styles without really doing either as well as it's done on other albums. A few really good songs on it, but nothing that really jumps out at me as great.
Never heard Pablo Honey except for Creep, and that seems a little like Bends-lite to me.

I'm inclined to agree with Jasper. While virtually all Radiohead is great, OK Computer is one of the greatest albums of the 20th Century. I know that's bold, but it is that good.
Let Down, Climbing Up The Walls, all pure genius.
But of the other albums...you guys failed to mention Pyramid Song. Such a beautifully haunting song. One of my favorites.
I do agree that Everything In Its Right Place is one of the best. It was placed so perfectly in Vanilla Sky.

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back. -Face

To some people, that would really be pushing it. One of the great albums of the 1990's, though, for sure.
"Pyramid Song" is fantastic, but having heard Amnesiac in its entirety, I'd say it's the overall weakest Radiohead effort I've heard (although I haven't really heard Pablo Honey).
So, again, best to worst:
OK Computer Kid A The Bends Hail to the Thief Amnesiac

OK Computer is the only Radiohead album without a single dull track. The Tourist took a while to really enjoy but after a while it really sticks. I'll never understand everyone's obsession with Kid A. I'm all for experimental music but I really cannot stand listening to most of the songs on that album. How to Disappear Completely is one of their best songs though. Sadly it doesn't make up for the rest. Their best songwriting was on OK Computer, The Bends, and Pablo Honey.

Personally, it really took me a long time to actually get myself to like "Fitter Happier", but every other song on that album I love. Anyways, I have also never gotten the incessant Amnesiac bashing... truth be told, it was the album that got me into Radiohead. My list would look like this though: 1.) OK Computer 2.) Hail to the Thief 3.) Kid A / Amnesiac / The Bends (I honestly couldn't pick one over the other) 6.) Pablo Honey
And as for songs, well I'm apt to have this as a list (of the top of my head, mind you): 1.) Pyramid Song 2.) Climbing Up the Walls 3.) How to Disappear Completely 4.) 2+2=5 5.) Karma Police tied with Just
