I wanted to make a mixed cd for my girlfriend. She made me a cd a few months ago and I really enjoyed the music on it. She is much more into music than I am, and as such I am at a loss due to lack of exposure in her genres of music. Anyway, I just wanted to see if I could get any song/artist suggestions for good songs.

The CD she gave me had songs from artists like: Abandoned Pools, John Mannequin, Killswitch, The Fray, Goldfrapp, Straylight Run, Love Equals Death, Billy Talent (can't remember the others). The range of sounds is eclectic, so I hope you guys can help.

*Hopefully this isn't indie because I'm not good at classifying music, so if it is hopefully a mod will move it. I looked up indie songs but they seem much "softer/slower" than the kind of music she picked out for me*

One of the things about giving mix tape reccomendations is that they are very personal. I made one for my girlfriend that I spent hours upon hours on (through some soundclips that I extracted from some of our favorite movies)... the music should mean something to you and her, something you want to introduce her to and it should have a message. Mix Cd's are really intimate... the one I made for my gf made her tear up (and she's not one to get very emotional).

Sorry that I don't feel any compulsion to give you any suggestions... if you feel that you really wanna make one, go through your music and find something that feels right. I've made a playlist to put songs for the next mix I make her (she loves them and I love putting a ton of effort into them, so it works out). If you can pull it off, they really are amazing.
