So, anyone got any thoughts on Hope of the States? I've read a lot of press on them recently, but I'm still not sure what to think. The album gets a US release this week, but I've not heard a note yet, so I'm torn. The British press raved about it (surprise, surprise) while the US press hasn't been as favorable. The most common touchstones I hear are Radiohead and Godspeed, which could be cool. But there are a lot of Radiohead wannabes (Muse, PaloAlto) that I wanted to like but didn't. I'm wondering if it's worth picking up...

Anyone got any thoughts?

I heard "The Red, The White, The Black and The Blue" and was impressed, but I don't know if they could keep my interest for a full album. I might pick it up.

The band make a nice racket, but the singer should be garrotted.

The Lost Riots is a fantastic album, though having the amazing instrumental as the album opener sets a high standard that the rest of the album doesn't quite match. I agree that at first I hated the singers voice, but its kinda grown on me.

The voices in my head tell me I'm not crazy

I love Sam's voice, it's so unique. It has it's faults, sure, but I love it.

I love The Lost Riots too, it's such a great album, every song is brilliant. Shame about Jimmi Lawerence though, RIP.

Favourite song on the album is Goodhorsehymn.
