Muse are an excellent band and are my fave band but unlike many i prefer muse's more experimental and indie side as for fave album it has to be showbiz its an ace album origin is there commercial album Hullaballoo's b-side songs were pretty kool i loved map of your head and ashamed (ashamed should be on one of their main albums its one of my fave songs by muse)and absoloution is what muse are all about it sums them up With Awesome Rock Amazing Riff's And Great Melodys But Showbiz Is My Fave!
I used to be a big fan of Muse, but have gone off them as years have passed. However, Origin Of Symmetry was their best album, closely followed by Showbiz (Muscle Museum and Sunburn are great songs). Hullaballo was just like a bad version of Origin (the only good song on it being 'In Your World') and Absolution was a big disappointment, you can safely say they are past their best.

I picked up their latest cd Absolution recently. Its the first time i've heard them. Sounds likable enough but yeah in comparison to Radiohead they dont cut it i guess - but their definitely better than Coldplay

Critics either love or hate muse...the band is just too extreme to be mediocre.
Muse stands currently as one of the most highly underrated bands. The band's parallel to Radiohead, aside from being completely insipid and uninfluenced, is just plain ridiculous. If you can criticize Muse for sounding too similar to Radiohead, can you make the same comparison between Radiohead and Nirvana, Muse's other influcence? Muse's arrangements, if not Matt Bellamy's voice alone, completely surpass anything Radiohead has produced. (I never knew a three member piece could sound like that). Both bands are extraordinary nonetheless.
To answer the question, I have yet to run into a bad Muse album...eagerly anticipating their fourth!
Muse are definitely underrated. Their music is full of innovative ideas (as well as some painfully obvious cliches). I love their bootlegs and B-sides, as well as all of their albums. If I were to choose one, it would be Absolution. For the obvious reasons.
p.s. the obvious reason is that it's less full of under developed ideas.
