One of the greatest bands of all time. They have been a force for good and justice (if you ignore that horrible witch of an ex-girlfriend of mine who was a big Fannies fan) in my life, providing the soundtrack for some of the best times I ever had. I love them, and if you do too, then I love you.

Bit harsh lumping them in beside Avril Lavigne, Fergie, and Paris Hilton though. Therefore my friend, I intend to boycott your thread. After this post. Sorry.

Been loving Teenage Fanclub since Bandwagonesque and they do deserve a thread. And moved to alternative.

that's ok. Well, i only own Bandwagonesque and Grand Prix, but i want to buy at least one other record. I think i would like Man-Made, their last studio album, produced by ...John Mcintire!!!?? It sounds like Teenage Fanclub during winter being on a bad mood and feeling 2 times more melancolic. Which is a really good thing. "Time stops" is a masterpiece.

I'm back on board! Smiler

Tweedy, if you like Bandwagonesque and Grand Prix, I don't think you would feel let down by any of the Fanclub's records. Man Made is excellent (especially Cells, which is one of my all-time favourite Fannies songs, although perversely it's one of my best mate's least favourite on the album, which can only be a good thing regarding the album's quality, right?), and over the last couple of years is the one I've listened to most, but I can also highly recommend Songs From Northern Britain. I know for a fact you'd like it. Cool

Well, i had read somewhere that Teenage Fanclub was pretty deceived after the making of Thirteen, the album that follows Grand Prix. The band members apparently said the songs didnt sound like they wanted them to. It's the only TF album i fear to buy.

I'd love to hear something new out of these guys. They're just gorgeous live... Spot-on harmonies.

The Fannies are supposed to be releasing new stuff towards the end of the year. Meanwhile, anyone hankering after a blast of Fanclub-esque sunshine pop perfection should check out The Primary 5 (last year's "Go", featuring contributions from TFC's Norman and Raymond, is a cracker) formed by TFC's old drummer Paul Quinn, and The Beep Seals (this year's debut "Things That Roar" was produced by none other than Norman, because "We thought if anyone knew how to record harmonies, it'd be Norman!"). Both highly recommended.

The new The Primary 5, High Five, sounds very nice from what I've heard. I'm hoping my copy makes it here next week.
