South is a British band that reminds me a bit of Doves, but more bombastic with louder guitars and soaring choruses. I own With The Tides and enjoy it, though I'd still recommend Doves ahead of them.

what makes you think Thierry Henry isnt Jesus? i think south sound like a cross between doves, u2 and the verve. they have a really cool sound. they're coming to cleveland next month too!! i'm crapping myself in anticipation. the new single sounds good. like they've grown up a bit more. with the tides was a more enthusiastic effort than from here on in. seems like they've gone back to more verve-espue sounds now. i'm really excited. britpop is dying and i'm savoring every last gasp of life. new travis album coming up this year. might be a very special year indeed.

Yeah I like South, though I've only got 'With the Tides', the singers got a great voice.

adventures in the underground journey to the stars just showed up on Rhapsody. i'm mid-way through it and they have definitely departed from the electronic infusions of previous records. i'm really liking it though. they're showing real skill as instrumentalists and still showing a healthy ear for hooks and melody.
