Just made my order for the download. I paid 1 pound for the convenience of hearing it months ahead, since I definitely will buy the physical copy when it comes out. I checked my email about 1 second after the order summary page came up and I already had my confirmation email. If you didn't get one, I'd recommend trying again without paying for it and see what happens.
Just a warning for you audiophiles: apparently the downloadable album will be 160kbps. I won't mind it that much, but I know others really will.
------ Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.

So yesterday, my beautiful girlfriend ordered the discbox for me! She also received the confirmation e-mail right away.
On that e-mail it said that we will also be receiving another e-mail with a username and password or something or other. Did anyone else see this and if so, have you received your e-mail yet?
I wonder if we will be able to download it at 12:00 AM our time or their time or how it will work.

I have been wondering the same thing. I also received an immediate confirmation and have been looking for the follow up instruction email but nothing yet. We are not too far from the midnight hour in England (roughly 6 hours i think). I would love for it to be available at midnight over there meaning I could be listening by dinner time.

NME is reporting that the release time is 10:00 am British time. We would be better off getting up early than staying up all night. I'm in the midwest so that puts it out about 4:00 am my time. Interesting to see when Radiohead fans all over the world hit this download server all at once.

I'm in KC, so it looks like I'll be getting up early, as well. It would've been cooler if it were a torrent. At least, they are 160 kbps encoded. That's good enough for me for now.

Ouch, there are gonna be a lot of people seriously pissed at that. I suppose their server wouldn't be able to handle anything larger though.

That's pretty great. Right now it is, 7:43 PM in London so that makes them seven hours ahead of me (Mountain Standard Time.) That means I can either go to sleep early and listen to it at 3 in the morning tomorrow, or stay up until 3 in the morning. This sure is getting exciting!

Well, I'll be damned. I received this e-mail on my hotmail account, which is the account I used the first time I bought the album, but received no confirmation e-mail.
The e-mail confirmation must have been lost in the first day hysteria after the announcement. I guess I didn't need to "buy" the album a second time.

Yeah, me too! Got it on my gmail account, but never got a confirmation. And I didn't get the e-mail on the address I used the second time around - the one I got a confirmation. Go figure.

So, how many people would have paid less if they knew in advance that the download was only 160 kbps? I probably would have paid about $3 if I had known.

I paid about $3, and I'm glad I didn't pay more. 160 isn't great quality. Hopefully I don't feel the wrath of Il Mago on this, but I think the people who paid $10 or so really got ripped off. Over $5 for that that quality is really too much.

To tell the truth, I was expecting them to be dick and give it 128kbps, although at least 192 kbps would be nice. That's generally my minimum. But, since it won't be upped on Oink or Indietorrents and trying to Dl it from a public tracker would be a pain in the ass, I just grabbed it off their site. I still haven't decided if I'm getting the discbox.. I'll decide when I hear it I suppose.
I still haven't received the 2nd email that others are getting today. I just saw a post on rolling stone that they received their email. I wonder if I should be nervous. I have little patience for new releases and will be irked if I can't get this the moment it is available.
I now have received e-mails on both of the accounts I registered with.

1. It is impossible to get ripped off when you pay an optional amount. 2. It seems pretty obvious that an online download on a server serving thousands of downloaders will not be as good quality as the hard copy/disc box 3. People get ripped off all the time buying BAD music by bad bands on bad albums. I'd much prefer Radiohead on low quality than super-high fidelity Fall Out Boy.
