So, I'm surprised no one has commented yet about the Dec. 31st UK released date, the supposed Jan. 1st US released date, and the odd decision to release "Jig Saw Falling Into Place" as the first single.
Odd because I don't know of many people calling it the best song on the album, and because "Hey... I thought Radiohead doesn't like releasing singles and are going to play by their own rules."
I'm starting to feel played.

Jigsaw is definitely my favorite song off of the album, and I've been saying that to everyone.

In fact, I like it so much I might have burned myself out on it...

I agree Hudson. Maybe it's a matter of marketing different songs to the UK than the US. Often there is a slight difference in what makes a good single, between the two countries and cultures.

Hey guys, haven't been posting in a while. Mostly reading. Anyways, anynone check out the Radiohead tv thing today.
There's a lengthy dj set by Thom Yorke, followed by the band playing a slow piano driven tune in the studio, followed by someone writing cryptic shit on a blackboard.
"To Whom it May Concern... I Give Up"
Anyone have a clue?

'15 step' or 'Reckoner' would do a lot better job letting people know how great the new album is.
Dude, what the heck are you even talking about? You hardly like the album at all, yet you have much to say on it. And by the way, all of the songs are good and “Jigsaw Falling into Place” is definitely one of the top three songs on there. They just chose it just because they felt like it. Who cares if it sells a lot of copies or whatnot, all I know is that I like the album a lot.
Oh well, I guess I should stop being a bully-like tyrant and shut up.

"Jigsaw" is a decent single choice. It's one of the more upbeat tracks on the album. "Reckoner" would've been a good choice though too.
The thing about Radiohead though, with the exception of their first two albums, they've never really been a singles oriented band to me. I usually listen to the whole album or nothing.

Agree with you, except I would have said "with the exception of their first album."

I'm quite fond of "Jigsaw" and think it is arguably the most radio-ready track (not a bad thing in this case).
I've been thinking the last 4 songs are where In Rainbows goes from good to great. "Reckoner" and "House of Cards" are the two songs that most define how this album is different from any other Radiohead album. I don't get those who say In Rainbows sounds just like all their older stuff. That's how I feel about Hail to the Thief, but this is a new direction. In Rainbows is silky smooth.

While The Bends is a solid album all the way through, you could pretty much pick any song on there and throw it on the radio without much effort.

I have a friend who says that The Bends has as many singles as the first Boston album. In fact, he used to make cracks when I played it. He'd say "Boston" when the song "The Bends" kicked in.

So "jigsaw" is one of the top three songs on there? Wow, it's a good thing we have you to tell us which songs on the album are best. It's not like we can all have our own preferences or anything.
Now, i've been accused several times of being discourteous. And that's fine. I can change, and I'm not resistant to constructive criticism. I've made a conscious effort to be more "courteous".
So, FragilekidA, your post to me was rude. You need to know that. If you can't be any more courteous to the members here, maybe you should think about taking a break. That's my advice to you. You have a habit of unleashing these little tyrades on people when you get frustrated. I've seen you cuss out and vent on more than one person here, including a mod. It's called self control, try it.
Back on topic. I personally think that if you're going to release a single for the purpose of giving people a taste of what you're offering, then you let the people have the best. And to me, on "in Rainbows", that's either "Reckoner" or "15 step", as far as the upbeat songs go.

"Fake Plastic Trees" is the "More Than A Feeling" of my generation.

Piero Scaruffi (of scaruffi.com fame/infamy) craps on RH because he thinks they're Smiths knockoffs. While I really don't hear that with regard to Kid A, I can sorta hear it in OKC and definitely in the Bends (although Greenwood rocks a lot harder than Marr, in-my-lowly-opinion).
